Trump's 1st time: Joint Address
What Redstate says:
Donald Trump had a really good night.
Most came away from his first joint address of Congress, feeling refreshed by the more presidential man we saw before us. As I watched social media respond to the speech, I was pleasantly surprised to see that many were able to see beyond their partisan beliefs to recognize the change in President Trump.
Cable News talkers were clearly impressed too as both Chris Wallace and Van Jones referred to it as the night Donald Trump “became President”. According to a CNN Poll, almost 70% of those who watched the speech were left feeling with a sense of optimism, and that’s no small feat in the current political climate, with over half feeling positive to it.
What ThinkProgress says:
Trump just bragged about jobs he didn’t create.
In his address to Congress last night, Trump listed a number of companies that were already planning to add jobs this year.
During his first address before Congress on Tuesday night, Trump took a moment to tally up recent announcements about job creation.
“Since my election, Ford, Fiat-Chrysler, General Motors, Sprint, SoftBank, Lockheed, Intel, Walmart, and many others, have announced that they will invest billions of dollars in the United States and will create tens of thousands of new American jobs,” he boasted.
The problem is that none of these jobs have anything to do with his administration. All of them are thanks to plans that were in the works before he was even elected.
